March 10 | IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING AMENDMENTS TO THE MARYLAND OFFICIAL GUIDE OF MEDICAL AND SURGICAL FEES REGULATION: At an open meeting on February 28, 2008, the Maryland Workers' Compensation Commission adopted, with minor, non-substantive changes, the proposed amendments to COMAR 14.09.03 Guide of Medical and Surgical Fees. It is anticipated that the final regulation will be published in the March 14, 2008 Maryland Register with an effective date of March 24, 2008. In anticipation of the forthcoming changes, the Maryland Workers' Compensation Commission will be conducting two orientation/training sessions in an effort to assist the community in the calculation of the new Maximum Reimbursement Allowable ('MRA') brought about by recent changes to the regulations controlling the Official Maryland Workers' Compensation Medical Fee Guide.
The Commission will be conducting two sessions:
Tuesday, March 18, 2008 Wednesday, March 19, 2008 Time: 1:30 p.m.
Workers' Compensation Commission 10 East Baltimore Street, 4th Floor Hearing Room No. 444 Baltimore, MD 21202 Each session is anticipated to last one hour and space is limited. Reservations are required and will be made on a first come, first served basis. |
March 7 | The Workers' Compensation Commission is in the process of converting pre-printed form templates: Notice of Employee's Claim (C-30), Employer/Insurer Response (C-40), Notice of Hearing (H-51), etc., to an entirely computer printed format. This change will allow us to gain significant efficiencies within our computer operations. Once implemented we will no longer generate the C-30 and the C-40 on colored paper (blue or pink, respectively). The conversion of most of these forms should be completed by mid-year calendar 2008. Thereafter, all notices from the Commission will be on white paper. |
