September 17

EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 1, 2001:
The purpose of the following procedural changes is to facilitate the rescheduling of cases which have been continued 'reset on request'.

In the future, the category CROR will only be used to designate a case which has been postponed but issues are still pending in the case.

In all other cases, except those to be reset in the normal course, the cases will be designated as 'Issues withdrawn.' This designation will be used instead of 'pass for settlement' or 'pass for stipulation.'

Furthermore, if a case has been settled or stipulated to, the paper  work must be delivered to the Commissioner's office prior to 3:00 pm on the day before the hearing. Otherwise, at least one of the parties must appear and put on the record the basic terms of the settlement or the stipulation.

In the case of a settlement, the appropriate documents will still have to be submitted. Approval of the settlement will not take place at the time of the hearing.

In the case of a stipulation the Commission may, at it's discretion, take the terms of the stipulation at the time of the hearing and pass an Order.

The Public Meeting scheduled for September 27, 2001 is rescheduled for Tuesday, October 2, 2001 @ 2:00 p.m., Room 447, 10 East Baltimore Street, Baltimore, MD, 21202.  The Commission is expected to take final action on the proposed Medical Fee Guide Regulations.  

September 13

Effective November 2001: Carroll, Frederick & Washington County hearings will be set in the Fort Detrick Room, Hampton Inn, 5311 Buckeystown Pike, Frederick Maryland, 21704.  November hearing notices bear this information.  More information will be available prior to November 1, 2001.  CLICK HERE FOR MAP LINKS

Effective October, 2001 the ALTERNATE (Tuesday/Thursday/Friday) Annapolis hearing site (AT_ dockets) moves from 2662 Riva Road to 2660 Riva Road, First Floor, Room 110 (Personnel Conference Room).  Notice will also be posted in October.  This does not affect regular Monday/Wednesday (AA_ dockets) Annapolis hearings.
